Ryan Donato dove headfirst into the NHL last night with a goal and 2 primary assists in his heavily anticipated debut. This ECAC superstar has been ripping it up for Harvard for the better part of 3 seasons and I am f*cking ready.
Donato brings hands, speed, vision and an NHL pedigree to the Bruins. He slotted right in next to Krejci and created chance after chance all night.
When everyone’s healthy it looks like Donato and DeBrusk will fight for that left wing spot alongside Krejci and newly acquired RW, Rick Nash.
Monday night, Donato centered a pass to Krug who returned it right back to Donato’s WHEELHOUSE 5 minutes into the second period. With visions of former Bruins greats in his eyes to the like of Phil Esposito, Cam Neely, and Nifty Middleton, Donato BOMBED the return feed from Krug past the Columbus tendy just in time for celly szn, RRRAHHHH. A fist pump that left Rene Rancourt jealous, and a team hug that I felt both in the suburbs, and in my pants, culminated the first of many goals in the bright future of Ryan Donato. Number 17 is no longer clinging to the Milan Lucic Fanclub. It’s in the silky mitts of a 21 year old kid from the south shore. Let’s. F*cking. Go.
