Somebodies been eaten their scrambies!!! U MASH baseball is another great story coming out of New England. A team that didn't even really have a home stadium stadium until last year, has been able to legitimize itself in the college baseball world, and place fear into anyone that steps onto the diamond with them.
The Little East Conference historically has always been one of the best Division III conferences in all of the country, as coach Bill Holowaty and his Eastern Connecticut Warriors reigned terror from their high castle. However since Holowaty is no longer head coach of Eastern, the power in the conference began to transition, and now rests in the hands of Umass Boston.
With a slew of power bats returning in 2018, led by pre-season All-American Chris Fowler who hit a nasty .367 with 4 triples, 7 homeruns and 13 doubles in 2017, the Beacons return majority of their lineup. More importantly a lineup oozing in swag and College World Series experience from top to bottom.
With an opening day thrashing of Lasell College (I thought that was an all women's school?) 20-1 in which Fowler went 3-5 and Dave Murphy and Wanderson Pinales each contributed a yard job, the U MASH baseball team looks poised to make another deep run in 2018, hopefully highlighted by a national championship.
Best of luck boys and bring it all home in 2018 from the Absolute Savage family. Also whoever your video/photographer is, you're a savage, and do you want a job?
