People commonly say that, "Fantasy baseball is too much work." Or, "I like football because I can just set my lineup once a week." That is beta male talk, not alpha male talk. Try deploying to Afghanistan and changing daily lineups on the worst internet connection you've ever seen during long, enduring missions and fire fights. Fantasy baseball in a true Rotisserie Style Format is not for soy boys; it's for Absolute Savages.
Fantasy baseball is a mans game. A gentleman's game. A life sucking, heart wrenching and gut punching suck fest that has more highs and lows than a High School relationship. From the day you draft, usually in March till the last out in September, you're sent on an emotional roller coaster that either ends in agony or glory.
I am an avid fantasy guy. Every day on my way to work I listen to Sirius XM radio channel 87 to Fantasy Talk. I subscribe to www.rotowire.com, and look for every edge I can. My browser is filled with fantasy baseball links to include www.closermonkey.com, a great site dedicated to updating you on current closer situations. I hunt early postings of starting lineups like kids out of college search for jobs. I set my alarm at 3am local time here in Florida, so I can try to beat the 11 other guys in my league to the waiver wire list. Usually I'm not fast enough.
My league is a 12 man roto league. Everyday you set your lineup and hunt waiver wire pitchers. Every single day. Miss a day, and you fall behind. Everyone is in the hunt for total games played. Wink for a second and you just missed the most recent closer injury, and the replacement has been swooped up.
Fantasy baseball is all about staying days ahead of the trends and putting in hours of research weekly. If you're a baseball guy and have never played, I highly suggest getting into it. I listed a few great resources above, that can help pave the way for you to start. If you play fantasy and are into the grind, let me know what works for you as far as getting the edge. Also I want to hear all the great team names out there ( I am Syndergaarden Cop).
